The Signature Climb

Prospector
Peak

Both distances climb Prospector Peak. There is no way around it — there never has been. It is the spine of this course and the price of the finish line.

Almost 2000 feet of vertical pain. You'll know its name by the top.

50K

Start 6:00 AM
6,000 ft of gain · Prospector Peak · 9-hour cutoff (3:00 PM)

The Full Beast. 6000 ft of pain and terror. 3 aid station passes. Start near the entrance of Fall Creek Road and run the Pritchard Creek Loop back to the Road. Take the Horse Creek Loop clockwise before your final climb: Prospector peak. The Beast will most likely devour you before you get to that point, but good luck anyway.

13.1M

Start 9:00 AM
2,700 ft of gain · Prospector Peak · 6-hour cutoff (3:00 PM)

The Three Fingered Half Beast. Smaller but more difficult to see before it attacks. 3 Aid Station passes. Run to the top of Rainbow Valley Ranch before descending to the Fall Creek Road and climbing Prospector Peak. Run to the turnaround point, kiss the sign, then back to the finish/start — if you survive that long.
